YOUTH AND YOUNG ADULTS
Youth Group News May 2015
The Youth and Young Adults Ministry encourages and promotes a sense of Christian values to live by, to understand and be comfortable with. It provides a place and opportunity to gather as one family ever present with Our Lord with our fellow brothers and sisters within our own age group.
The Youth Group is open to all high school students.. Each meeting is planned out and facilitated by the Core Team, which is made up of veteran Youth Group members. With the guidance of Ms. Arla and other Young Adults, the Core Team coordinates events where the youth of the parish can praise, have fun with, worship, serve, and discover Christ with and through each other. They also have an ongoing ministry whereby they help feed the Rachel House, host coffee and donuts sales after Masses, and assist in any tasks around the parish wherever and whenever they are needed. The Youth Group gathers every 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month from 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM in the Youth Room. Core team meets every last Friday of the month.
The Young Adults range from 18 to 30s and hold their own meetings every 3rd Friday of the month. They begin each meeting by attending the 7pm Mass followed by and activity fellowship in the Youth Room. They are a very active group as they help sponsor the youth gatherings, assist around the parish if needed, and live their discipleship as they are involved in numerous ministries as Lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, Confirmation Retreat, Religious Education teachers and more. The Young Adults are planning their next pilgrimage to “World Youth Day” in Krakow, Poland where hundreds of thousands of Catholic youth and young adults are going to gather to be with the Holy Father, Pope Francis I, and participate in Catholic Christian conferences and liturgies.
